John has an extensive background in both qualitative
and quantitative methodologies. His career has spanned
over 20 years in all facets of the research industry
- as a client, as a consultant and as a full-service
supplier.
Prior to joining Lang Research, John worked as a
senior research executive as Managing Director at ComQUEST
Research, a Senior Vice President at the Angus Reid
Group (now known as Ipsos-Reid), and Vice President
at Butler Research. In earlier years, he worked as a
manager of research for some of Canada's leading food
and packaged goods companies, including Procter and
Gamble, Bristol Myers and Ralston Purina. This gave
him a very solid foundation in understanding the needs
of the client for clear analysis and relevant, actionable
advice.
John's principal areas of expertise include financial
services, customer satisfaction, employee surveys and
product evaluation. He has also worked extensively in
public opinion polling, sports marketing research (particularly
golf), technology research and media studies.
John is a graduate of McMaster University with a
Master's degree in Psychology and an Honours BA in Psychology
from the University of Waterloo.
John is a professional member of the Professional
Marketing Research Society and is currently a member
of the CAMRO and SCRC Board of Directors. John has also
been awarded the Certificate of Marketing Research Professional
(CMRP) designation.
